Executive Summary

Welcome to the first issue of Phenomenal Woman Newsletter, a monthly publication that cover interventions by Uganda Women’s Network, members and partners. The publication of this issue comes at a time when Uganda is gearing up for the 2016 General Elections.

It has been a tense period characterized by a looming fear of violence ahead of the elections. While political conflict destroys both men and women’s lives, it is apparent that women and girls are often the more vulnerable group who bear a heavy burden during and after violence.
