Executive Summary

These facts have been developed by the Marriage Bill Coalition to inform the public and policy makers of the facts in the Marriage Bill, 2017. The Coalition is made up of more than 40 human rights and women’s rights organizations, institutions, and individuals.

The Coalition has championed the campaign for a fair family law since 1999, with its major goal to ensure that Uganda has a just and fair domestic relations law with a family code based on principles of non-discrimination and gender equality.
