The Intersectionality between land, climate change and women’s economic empowerment symposium
“The Intersectionality between land, climate change and women’s economic empowerment symposium.
As we mark the 5th National Women’s Week, we are convening various stakeholders for a symposium focused on the Intersectionality between land, climate change and women’s economic empowerment. Issue papers on women’s concerns and the intersection of land, climate change, and women’s economic empowerment will be presented, followed by panel discussions featuring various stakeholders.
A plenary session will allow audience interaction and opinions. There will be breakout sessions where participants will be divided into small sector-specific groups to have deeper engagement on holistic strategies to address the concerns of women.
The objectives of the symposium are to;
- Examine how land, climate change mitigation, adaptation strategies, and economic empowerment intersect;
- Address the multifaceted challenges impeding gender transformation and equality in Uganda;
- Discover practical solutions and opportunities for collaboration that advance sustainable development, resilience, and inclusive growth.”
