Report Overview
The year 2015 is particularly significant for women across the world and in Uganda. In the first place, it marks 20 years after the conclusion of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
Domestically, the year not only marks 20 years after the promulgation of the 1995 Constitution, but will also see the start of yet another round of political process that will culminate in general elections in 2016. It is thus an opportune time to reflect on women’s inclusion in critical electoral processes as a basis for devising means to achieve even more significant progress in this regard.
