Executive Summary
Although both women and men experience violence in Uganda, women are more likely to suffer every form of violence examined in the UDHS and to experience it more frequently .
The National Development Plan (NDP) has indentified Gender inequality as a key binding constraint to socio-economic development in Uganda. It is noted in the NDP that 59% of ever-married women aged 15 to 49 have experienced some form of physical and/or sexual violence.
