Executive Summary
The Government of Uganda has made progress in legislative, programmatic and process reforms aimed at fulfilling the Constitutional provisions that actualise the Convention on Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
Legislative reforms include the Employment laws passed in 2006, Electoral laws and amendments in 2005 and 2010, laws on the rights of Persons with Disabilities passed in 2006, the Equal Opportunities Commission Act 2007 and the National Equal Opportunities Policy.
