Report Overview

UWONET will in this alternative report present some of the progress made and challenges that still persist relating to the promotion of women’s rights and gender equality in Uganda.

Its analysis arises from research it has conducted since 2011 on the progress government of Uganda has made in fulfilling its obligations under CEDAW with a specific focus especially the concluded observation by the CEDAW committee in 2010 and arising gaps and reports by members and partners in CSOs working on various articles of CEDAW.
