Executive Summary
Gender Based Violence (GBV) is an umbrella term used to describe any harmful act that is perpetuated against a person’s will on the basis of unequal relations between women and men as well as abuse of power.
Gender Based Violence manifests in a number of forms such as; battering, intimate partner violence (including marital rape, sexual violence, and dowry/bride price-related violence), feticide, sexual abuse of female children in the household, honor crimes which is a felony by family or community members in belief that the victim has brought dishonor or shame to the family and community
