The National Women’s Week is one of the platforms established by Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET)
as a space to deeply reflect on reawakening the women’s movement in order to advance women’s
cause, realizing that the desired change in a woman’s life will be delivered by the woman herself
and only achievable by undermining differences in age, class, education, race and economic status
among others through encouraging a common voice.
The National Women’s Week is a biennial event whose purpose is to provide a platform to reflect
and revive the women’s movement in Uganda. The event brings together women and men from
different walks of life and across sectors to network, share knowledge and experiences to
holistically address the multi-dimensional factors that continue to impede women’s empowerment
and gender transformation.
UWONET is convening the 3rd National Women’s Week from 17th to 21st October 2016, under the
theme; In Unison: Confronting the Unfinished Business. United Women Can!
Deadline for registration is 7th October 2016.
Registration before 7th September 2016 is subjected to 5% discount.
